Tracking Activity

Walking is the primary activity, but other forms of physical activity – such as running, biking, swimming, or exercise classes – may be converted into miles using provided conversion charts.

By using the Talk Test as a guideline. When doing light activity, you can sing during the activity. When doing moderate activity, you can talk but not sing during the activity. When doing vigorous activity, you will not be able to say more than a few words without pausing for a breath.

Also, use this categorization to assist in conversion:

  • Vigorous activity – 8 mins of activity = 1 mile
  • Light activity – 20 mins of activity = 1 mile
  • Moderate activity – 10 mins of activity = 1 mile

Miles are logged through the online tracking system provided after registration. Teams or individuals can enter activity totals weekly.

You can usually log missed activity later, as long as entries are made before the program’s final deadline.

View the Mileage Equivalent Conversion Chart for a list of activities and their mileage equivalents or use the Mileage Calculator to calculate mileage for specific exercises and activities.
